We saw an article today written by David Klepper of the Associated Press (AP) that featured Lazicki's Bird House and Rescue in South Kingstown, R.I. Unfortunately, this rescue is being forced to move by December 30, 2013 because the building that houses the shelter will be torn down soon. This business has 80 parrots that need to be re-homed right away.
We have Bengal cats, however, we also have a Solomon Island Eclectus parrot as our pet. Parrots make great pets for people who have the time to spend with them. They can be very social and loving. If you can possibly help by adopting one of the parrots at Lazicki's Bird House and Rescue, please do. If not, please let others know who may be able to help. The phone number listed on the rescue's website is: (401) 500-4925.
We raise, show and sell pedigreed Bengal cats and kittens from Championship bloodlines. We love people and animals in general and encourage positive relationships between the two. Share your positive input on pets, pet ownership and more with us.

Bengal Kitten Named Ike is Available for Christmas
Our Bengal kitten named Ike is developing beautifully. He is still in the fuzzy stages, but is already eye catching. He has a happy-go-lucky personality and makes everyone he meets smile. Here are some updated photos of this wonderful little boy who happens to be available. He will be able to go to a new home a couple of days before Christmas. If you would like him as a pet for yourself or your family for the Holiday, let us know.

Available Bengal Kittens
We have two beautiful pedigreed brown spotted Bengal kittens that are available. One is female that we call Gem and one male that we call Ike. They are in their fuzzy stage but their patterns and stature are developing well. They both have whited tummies. Gem has the pink collar and Ike has the blue one. They will be ready to go to their new homes just before Christmas. If you would like a beautiful Bengal kitten to liven up your home, contact us now to arrange it. More photos of the kittens and their parents are on our website at: http://www.adorecatsbengals.com.

Pet Safety
It's past the middle of October. Now is the time to decide (if you have not already done so) if you are going to get a costume for your pet for Halloween. The pet stores I have been to have a large selection of costumes to choose from if you are inclined to have your pet participate.
When choosing pet costumes try to select safe ones. Be wary of costumes that are adorned with sparkles as they can be licked off. Be on the lookout for dangly metal objects that can come off and be swallowed by your pet which presents a choking hazard. And finally, be extra careful of the plastic bags you bring the costumes home in that your pet could get into to hide (in case he/she does not like the costume you picked out :-)) which could cause suffocation.
A little extra caution on your part will go a long way in keeping your pet safe.

Gone to New Homes
The kittens from Faith's last litter are all gone to their new homes. Pick up day was very exciting for everyone.
Once the kittens leave, the atmosphere here changes a bit. We miss the kittens we have spent 12 wonderful weeks with and have to adjust to them being gone. Even though we raise the kittens for other people to enjoy, each one has a special place in our hearts. The bright side is, we have hand picked each family and can be confident the kittens can have happy lives.
